About the Honda CR60
Identify the fork, brake and clutch application before starting a CR60 repair.
A Honda CR60 restoration brings the suspension, drum brakes and clutch back into focus. Fork oil seals contain the fork oil, brake shoes work inside the wheel hubs, and the clutch uses different plate types in its stack. Identifying those assemblies first helps you order the parts needed for each job.
CR60 fork seals: two sizes to check
For the listed 1983 application, the oil seals measure 27 × 39 × 10.5 mm. The 1984–1985 option is 30 × 42 × 10.5 mm. Read these as inside diameter × outside diameter × height. A replacement front end needs the seals for the fork actually fitted.
Model and application differencesCR60 repair checkpoints
1983 fork service
27 mm seal inside diameter
The linked 27 × 39 × 10.5 mm oil-seal set lists CR60 1983. Read the old seal marking before dismantling both forks.
Later fork application
30 mm seal inside diameter
The 30 × 42 × 10.5 mm set lists CR60 1984–1985. It is a separate size, not an alternative seal for the same fork.
Brake and clutch work
Keep the component years separate
The featured front and rear shoes list 1983–1984. Clutch plates carry broader catalog entries, which do not extend brake fitment.
Identify the bike and fitted componentsCR60 identification checklist
- Photograph the frame stamp and engine number separately. Use model documentation to resolve the year if they disagree.
- Measure the fitted fork seal or record its marking. Check for a replacement front end.
- Identify the front or rear hub before choosing shoes. Compare the shoe width and the cam and pivot ends.
