About the Honda GL1100 Gold Wing
The flat-four Gold Wing family that brought factory-equipped touring to Honda.
Honda introduced the GL1100 in 1980 with a 1,085cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke flat-four engine and shaft final drive. The Interstate added factory touring equipment, and the Aspencade joined the family in 1982.
Choose Standard, Interstate or Aspencade
The GL1100 family spans 1980–1983, but the Aspencade starts in 1982. Shared engine architecture does not settle every suspension, brake or equipment application. Our front master-cylinder listings, for example, separate 1980–1981 from 1982 rather than covering every GL1100 year with one kit.

Use the touring version as well as the year when narrowing the GL1100 collection. Added accessories are not reliable model identification on their own.
1980–1983
GL1100 · Standard
The basic GL1100 shares the liquid-cooled flat-four touring platform without the Interstate’s original factory fairing and luggage package.
Parts checkpoint: Record the original model even if touring equipment was added later.
1980–1983
GL1100I · Interstate
Honda’s factory-equipped Interstate arrived in 1980 with fairing, saddlebags and trunk.
Parts checkpoint: Check the I application for service parts and identify the equipment actually fitted.

GL1100A · Aspencade

Use the complete identifiers and the correct model-year documentation. Check the engine and chassis separately when parts have been exchanged.
- Frame/VIN and model: Record the complete identifier, model year and market. Confirm Standard, Interstate or Aspencade rather than identifying the bike only by its luggage.
- Engine: Identify any replacement engine before selecting engine gaskets or timing-system parts. GL1100 and GL1200 are separate applications.
- Brakes: Record front or rear position and identify the fitted master cylinder and caliper. Compare kit dimensions and application years.
- Carburetors and forks: Check carburetor identification and fork details, especially when assemblies have been replaced or upgraded.
