About the 1985 Honda GL1200L Limited
Maintain the 1985 Limited while keeping its fuel-injection identity clear.
Honda introduced the fuel-injected GL1200L Limited in 1985 to mark the Gold Wing’s tenth anniversary. It belongs to the GL1200 generation and is separate from both the earlier 1976 GL1000LTD and the later 1986 SE-i. Use GL1200L and 1985 together when looking up service parts.
The Limited uses the earlier clutch-set application
For clutch work, the 1985 Limited is listed with the earlier nine-plate set. The 1986 SE-i uses the later set. The top-end gasket, fork oil-seal and hydraulic clutch examples below have their own confirmed Limited applications. For fuel-system work, start with the injection component and its identification; carburetor kits for Interstate and regular Aspencade models do not service the Limited’s injection system.
