About the Honda VFR700 Interceptor
Choose the VFR700F or VFR700F2 parts route for your Interceptor.
The VFR700 Interceptor belongs to Honda’s 1980s V-four sport-bike family. Today, a repair may involve the original forks and carburetors or assemblies fitted during an earlier restoration. The frame’s F or F2 designation and the identity of the component being serviced are both useful when ordering.
VFR700F and VFR700F2 parts at a glance
Use the F guide for its 1986–1987 fork-seal application. The float needle and seat and front caliper piston list F 1986 and F2 1986–1987. The F2 guide also has an oil-filter option and a separate 1987 fuel-cut relay. Follow the full model code on each product.

| Model or repair | What to check |
|---|---|
| VFR700F repair route | Use the VFR700F page for the 1986–1987 fork-seal example and selected brake work. Some other featured components only list the 1986 F. |
| VFR700F2 repair route | The F2 page concentrates on its verified float-valve, front-piston, oil-filter and 1987 relay applications. F-only fork coverage is not automatically F2 coverage. |
| Read the product year, not just the family badge | Do not turn the years on one VFR700 product into a production chart or a fitment promise for the whole collection. |
Frame, engine and component markingsHonda VFR700 Interceptor identification
Use the complete frame/model identification and the correct market documentation. Identify a replacement engine, carburetor or front end separately from the frame.
- Record the complete F or F2 model designation and model year.
- Note the carburetor identification and any replacement brake or fork assembly.
- For hydraulic repairs, identify front or rear brake, or clutch, before comparing pistons and seals.
A shared model prefix or similar appearance does not establish the model year or parts fitment.
