About the Honda VTR1000
Find the right F or SP application before choosing a repair part.
Honda’s VTR1000F Firestorm, known as the Super Hawk in North America, uses carburetors. The VTR1000SP models use programmed fuel injection. That distinction matters immediately when buying fuel-system parts: an F-model carburetor kit belongs to a different system from the SP’s injection equipment.
Choose your model, then your repair
Use the VTR1000F parts and repair guide for Firestorm or Super Hawk work. For SP applications, browse VTR1000SP parts in this collection. If your motorcycle is documented as RVT1000R / RC51, also check the RVT1000R parts collection against that designation.
Know your VTR1000 before choosing partsVTR1000F versus VTR1000SP: which parts route?
Identify the motorcycle first. The examples below show why a shared engine-size label cannot determine fitment.
VTR1000F
Firestorm / Super Hawk
The carbureted road model. Use the dedicated F collection for its carburetor, engine, clutch and chassis repair parts.
Parts checkpoint: Select VTR1000F and your year.
VTR1000SP
SP-1 / SP-2 applications
The SP family uses fuel injection. The catalog groups relevant parts under VTR1000SP; each product still needs an exact year and component match.
Parts checkpoint: Do not assume every SP-1 and SP-2 component interchanges.
RVT1000R / RC51 or VTR1000
Follow the designation on the bike
Use the RVT1000R collection for that documented model. A generic VTR1000 product entry does not automatically confirm either an F or an SP application.
Parts checkpoint: Resolve an incomplete model description before buying.
Identify your motorcycle before orderingVTR1000 identification checklist
The model suffix and fitted hardware matter more than bodywork or a familiar nickname.
- Full designation: Record VTR1000F, VTR1000SP or RVT1000R exactly as supported by the motorcycle’s documentation.
- Model year and market: Separate model year from first registration. Use the matching market manual or parts fiche.
- Fuel system: Identify carburetors or injection equipment before choosing fuel-system service parts.
- Brakes and bodywork: Confirm front or rear position, caliper and pad shape, or the mirror side and mounting base. Identify donor assemblies.
- Separated years: Read year gaps literally. A mirror listed for 2001 and 2003 does not establish 2002 fitment.
