About the Honda VTR250
Choose the VTR250 front pads by year before building the rest of the order.
The early VTR250 brake applications are not one continuous pad choice. One front-pad product covers 1988–1989 and another covers 1990. The clutch plate covers 1988–1989, while the master-cylinder and steering examples carry their own model labels. Keeping these choices separate makes an early VTR250 service order much clearer.
Separate early service parts from the later MC33 VTR
Honda introduced the later naked MC33 VTR in Japan for 1998. The earlier applications shown here do not establish fitment for that generation. On the early bike, also identify the fitted caliper and master cylinder separately: pads work at the caliper, while a master-cylinder kit repairs the unit operated by the brake lever.
Know your model before choosing partsVTR250 repair checkpoints
The year ranges below belong to the individual products. Keep your selected year in the comparison when opening a repair link.
1988–1989 front pads
Use the earlier pad product
Compare the caliper, backing-plate shape and retaining arrangement with this specific front-pad application.
1990 front pads
Choose the separate 1990 application
The 1990 product has its own application. Do not combine the two year groups into one pad fitment.
Other assemblies
Retain R and L product labels
The master-cylinder kit lists VTR250R 1988–1990, and the steering kit lists VTR250L 1990. Confirm the fitted assembly when those labels differ from your records.
Identify your motorcycle before orderingVTR250 identification checklist
Keep frame and engine markings, market and model year together. Identify the caliper, front master cylinder or steering stem for the repair at hand. If your motorcycle is the later MC33 generation, require a product application for that generation before ordering.
- Keep the complete model designation and year with your parts list.
- Record frame and engine markings separately. A replacement engine needs its own parts comparison.
- Compare the component fitted to the motorcycle, the product application and the package contents.
