About the Kawasaki S1 250 Mach I
Keep the S1’s engine, carburetors and original chassis equipment together in the restoration plan.
The S1 250 Mach I is the small-capacity member of Kawasaki’s two-stroke triple family. On a restoration, engine sealing and carburetor fuel control deserve their own checks alongside the forks and fuel tank. Keep the S1 designation visible when comparing parts with other Kawasaki S-series models.
Inspect the fitted parts on a rebuilt triple
The engine gasket set, fork seals and carburetor float below list S1 1973–1975. The tank-cap rubber is narrower, with 1974–1975 coverage. Replacement caps, carburetors or forks need a match to the fitted assembly. For engine work, plan gaskets and crankshaft seals separately instead of assuming the gasket-set name covers the entire rebuild.

Tank-cap rubber: 1974–1975
The cap seal has a narrower year entry. Match its profile to the cap itself, especially after a replacement tank or cap has been fitted.
Other Kawasaki triples
Check S1, S2, S3 and KH250 entries separately. A shared service component does not establish complete engine or chassis interchange.
Frame, engine and fitted equipmentS1 identification checklist
- Record S1, year, original market and the frame and engine markings.
- Identify the fitted carburetors before selecting a float or fuel-metering component.
- Compare the fork seals and the cap’s sealing profile to the actual assemblies, particularly after a restoration.
