About the Kawasaki ZX1200
Separate Ninja ZX-12R and ZZR1200 applications for brakes, clutch springs and steering bearings.
Kawasaki’s ZX1200 model codes cover both the Ninja ZX-12R and ZZR1200 in this collection. A/B entries identify the ZX-12R applications used here, while C identifies the ZZR1200. The front-pad and steering-kit differences below show why the code is more useful than the shared engine-size label.
Match front pads and steering kits by suffix and year
The selected ZX-12R front pads list A 2000–2001 and B 2002–2003. ZZR1200 front pads and clutch springs have C 2002–2005 applications. Steering kits have another boundary: the early kit lists A 2000–2001 and B 2002; the other lists B 2003–2005 and C 2002–2005.

| Model or repair | What to check |
|---|---|
| ZX1200A/B — ZX-12R route | The front-pad example lists A 2000–2001 and B 2002–2003. Later B years need their own pad application. |
| ZX1200C — ZZR1200 route | The selected C front pads and clutch springs list 2002–2005. These are distinct products from the A/B front-pad example. |
| Steering bearings split too | One featured kit lists A 2000–2001 and B 2002; the other lists B 2003–2005 and C 2002–2005. Identify both suffix and year before selecting a kit. |
Frame, engine and component markingsKawasaki ZX1200 identification
Use the complete frame/model identification and the correct market documentation. Identify a replacement engine, carburetor or front end separately from the frame.
- Confirm the A, B or C code and exact year from the frame identification.
- Use Ninja ZX-12R or ZZR1200 as a cross-check, not a replacement for the code.
- Match the fitted front caliper and steering assembly after any chassis modification.
A shared model prefix or similar appearance does not establish the model year or parts fitment.
