About the Suzuki GS650
Choose your GS650 model, then build the parts order around the repair.
The GS650 name brings together several Suzuki models with different service applications. The shaft-driven GS650G is one member of the family; E, GL, GT and M parts need their own model match. Start with the complete designation on your motorcycle, including the suffix.
GS650E, G, GL, GT and M: where the parts differ
An engine gasket set for the E model covers a different application from the G/M set. Carburetor diaphragms and fork seals have narrower coverage again. Use the comparisons below to separate those choices before ordering, especially when a restoration has received a replacement engine, carburetor or front end.
Model and year comparisonGS650 parts differences
Use these model and component differences to narrow the correct parts for your motorcycle.
E, G and M
Engine gasket sets differ
The E-model gasket set fits 1981–1982. A separate set fits G 1981–1983 and M 1983. Neither example establishes GL or GT coverage.
Parts checkpoint: Follow the exact model line in the chosen gasket part.
GL and GT
Carburetor service pieces
The diaphragm fits GL 1981–1983 and GT 1982–1983. A rebuild kit can have a different application from a separate diaphragm or float needle.
Parts checkpoint: Identify the fitted carburetor and the individual part needed.
GS650G forks
A narrower seal example
The fork seals here fit G 1982–1983. Their presence in the family collection does not establish fitment for every GS650 fork.
Parts checkpoint: Compare all three seal dimensions and the fitted fork.

Use these checks when a registration year or a model badge does not identify the fitted parts.
- Full GS650 designation, including every model suffix.
- Confirmed model year and original sales market where known.
- Frame and engine markings recorded separately.
- Carburetor identification, drive arrangement and fitted fork assembly.
