About the Yamaha MX100
Carburetor, drum-brake and ignition parts for selected early MX100 applications.
The MX100 belongs to Yamaha’s small off-road model family. Older examples may have accumulated replacement engines, carburetors or wheels, so a restoration should begin with the frame identification and the assemblies actually fitted.
Match each restoration part to its assembly and year
The float needle and seat and the bowl gasket list 1979–1983 MX100; the front and rear shoes shown here list 1983. For ignition work, the contact point lists 1974–1975 and the condenser lists 1979. Identify any replacement carburetor, wheel or ignition assembly before choosing its service parts.
Model and application differencesCompare your MX100 repair options
| Model or repair | What to check |
|---|---|
| 1974–1975 contact point | Match the fitted points assembly and mounting arrangement. |
| 1979–1983 carburetor service | The float valve controls incoming fuel; the bowl gasket seals the bowl joint. |
| 1983 drum brakes | Separate front and rear listings confirm this year, not the full carburetor range. |
Frame, engine and component markingsYamaha MX100 identification
Use the complete frame/model identification and the correct market documentation. Identify a replacement engine, carburetor or front end separately from the frame.
- Record frame and engine identification separately and confirm the model year.
- Read carburetor markings and compare the float valve and bowl shape.
- Inspect the points plate and condenser connections; identify both drum-brake positions.
A shared model prefix or similar appearance does not establish the model year or parts fitment.
