About the Yamaha MX125
Identify the MX125 fork assembly and ignition components before choosing service parts.
The featured MX125 fork seals show a clear dimensional difference. The 1974–1975 application is listed as 30 × 40.5 × 10.5 mm, while the 1976 application is 34 × 46 × 10.5 mm. Compare the forks fitted to the motorcycle, especially when restoring a machine assembled from parts of different years.
Keep the ignition year check separate
The contact-point example lists MX125 for 1974–1975, whereas the rear drum shoes list 1974–1976. The later shoe application does not establish a 1976 points application. Inspect the ignition system actually fitted and use the appropriate service information for its adjustment.

Early and 1976 fork-seal sizes
The inside and outside diameters differ between the two listed sets. Do not choose from the shared 10.5 mm height alone; compare the complete seal dimensions and application.
1974–1975 points and 1974–1976 rear shoes
The points listing has the narrower range. Identify the installed ignition before choosing parts, and confirm that the shoe set matches the rear drum rather than the front hub.
Identify your motorcycle before orderingMX125 identification & fitment checks
- Record the exact MX125 year and whether the forks, wheel or ignition have been changed.
- Compare all three fork-seal dimensions and the installed seal profile with the appropriate listing.
- Identify the rear drum and the contact-point mounting arrangement; keep their year applications separate.
