About the Yamaha XV1000
Start with the XV1000 year and the assembly that needs attention.
Yamaha’s period model literature identifies the XV1000 Virago in its 1984 American lineup. For replacement parts, that market context matters alongside the XV1000 designation. This collection contains several repair categories with different application entries; the 1984–1985 parts highlighted below provide a useful starting point without making every XV1000 component interchangeable.
Separate intake leaks, starter faults and rear-brake wear
The intake holders connect the carburetors to the engine’s intake side. The starter motor supplies cranking power through the fitted drive, while rear shoes work inside the brake drum. Choose the component involved in the repair and compare its mounting details. A replacement motor alone does not establish the condition of the starter drive, relay or wiring.

Check before orderingIdentify your XV1000 and fitted parts
- Confirm the complete model and year from the motorcycle and its documents.
- Compare intake spigots, bolt spacing, angle and any vacuum connections with the original holders.
- For starting work, compare the motor mount and drive arrangement and diagnose the surrounding electrical circuit.
