About the Kawasaki VN1500 Vulcan family
Choose your Vulcan by its model code, then plan the repair.
The VN1500 family grew from the Vulcan 88 / VN-15 into Classic, touring Nomad and Drifter branches. Kawasaki reused familiar sales names across markets and revisions. For parts, the complete VN1500 model code is more useful than “Vulcan 1500” alone, especially when distinguishing carbureted and fuel-injected versions.
Which Vulcan 1500 do you have?
Start with the letter after VN1500. The carbureted E-model Classic and G-model Nomad differ from the N-model Classic Fi and L-model Nomad Fi. The C-code Vulcan 1500 L adds another naming trap: its sales name does not make it an L-code Nomad. The model links below keep those branches separate.

Identify your motorcycle before orderingVN1500 identification checklist
Use the motorcycle’s own markings for this checklist. For imported or modified bikes, include the market and photos of the replaced assembly.
- Model and market: Record the complete VN1500 designation, revision, model year and market from the motorcycle label and matching documents.
- Frame and engine: Photograph the frame/VIN marking and engine number separately. A replacement engine needs its own parts identification.
- Fitted component: Note carburetor or fuel-system identification, fork dimensions, brake position and control markings as relevant to the repair.
- Product match: Compare the exact model-year application, dimensions and package contents. Keep missing years separate and confirm any mismatch before ordering.
