About the Suzuki GS500
Use the GS500 family to compare applications, then choose the part for your exact model.
GS500, GS500E and GS500F entries can appear on the same service part, but that overlap varies by component. Our individually sold clutch friction plate includes all three model names in specific years. The carburetor kit, engine gasket set and fork seals below have narrower E-model applications, making the complete designation useful from the start.
Use year-code letters as identification clues
Suzuki’s GS500E service manual uses additional letters for model years, including GS500EL for 1990 and GS500ET for 1996. Keep the complete code in your notes and match it to the model year when searching. A shared GS500 family name or similar appearance does not establish which carburetor kit or seal a later motorcycle needs.
| Part | Listed model | Listed years |
|---|---|---|
| Carburetor rebuild kit | GS500E | 1989–1993 |
| Engine gasket set / fork oil seals | GS500E | 1989–2000 |
| Clutch friction plate | GS500E | 1989–2000 |
| Same clutch friction plate | GS500 | 2001–2002 |
| Same clutch friction plate | GS500F | 2004 |

GS500E
The broadest repair selection in this guide
The E-model page groups the carburetor, gasket, fork and clutch choices linked below. The carb kit has a shorter year range than the gasket set.
Parts checkpoint: Choose the E-model year before comparing repair parts.
GS500
Check unsuffixed model entries
The clutch friction plate includes GS500 2001–2002. Other products can list a different span.
Parts checkpoint: Use a GS500 entry rather than assuming E-model fitment.
GS500F
Selected cross-model service parts
The clutch friction plate includes GS500F 2004. The E-model carburetor kit has its own application.
Parts checkpoint: Keep the F suffix when reading product compatibility.
