About the Suzuki TS185
The TS185 fork-seal change is a useful starting point for a more accurate restoration order.
The TS185 selection includes two distinct fork oil-seal applications: 30 × 40.5 × 10.5 mm for 1971–1978 and 32 × 44 × 10.5 mm for 1979–1981. That change matters even when other service parts overlap several years. A replacement front end needs to be identified independently of the motorcycle’s frame year.
Use the fork, clutch and kickstarter ranges independently
Fork work starts with all three seal dimensions and the front end actually fitted. The selected clutch plate is a separate 1980–1981 application, while the kickstart lever lists 1977–1981. Before buying the lever, check its shaft splines, clamp and offset; these details matter when a lever or engine has been replaced.

Use the model, year and fitted component together when comparing these applications.
Early fork
1971–1978: 30 mm seal inside diameter
The selected early oil seals measure 30 × 40.5 × 10.5 mm. Confirm the complete dimensions and fork identity.
Later fork
1979–1981: 32 mm seal inside diameter
The later seals measure 32 × 44 × 10.5 mm. They are a separate application from the earlier seal size.

Use the individual range and compare the plate or lever. Neither application extends the other.
