About the Honda CL72 Scrambler
A CL72 restoration benefits from identifying the original assemblies before choosing service parts.
The CL72 is Honda’s 250 Scrambler, with its own model identity within the early Honda twin range. A restoration may retain the original frame while using a replacement engine, carburetor or fork. Record those assemblies separately before choosing fuel, clutch or chassis parts.
Build the fuel and clutch order around the 1962 CL72
All four repair examples below identify CL72 1962. Compare the carburetor float and fuel-tap gasket at their separate locations, then inspect the clutch plate and fork-seal dimensions. Later CL72 years and the CL77 require their own supported applications.

Identity
CL72 versus other Honda twins
Keep CL72 in each search. Body panels and a Scrambler exhaust are not sufficient evidence for internal or chassis parts.
Fuel repair
Float and petcock gasket are separate jobs
Identify whether the part is inside the carburetor or in the tank tap. Match the old component’s shape and mounting details.
Fork service
1962 seal dimensions
The selected 35 × 46 × 11 mm oil-seal listing identifies CL72 1962. Compare the fitted fork rather than carrying this size across later years.
