About the Yamaha XS750S
Yamaha XS750S Special parts for carburetor, intake, fork and brake repairs.
The XS750 Special combines Yamaha’s 747cc DOHC triple and shaft drive with a different riding position and chassis treatment. The 1979 XS750SF used higher handlebars, a stepped seat and leading-axle forks. Those details make the installed front end and control routing part of the parts-selection process.
Intake rubbers, bowl gaskets and fork seals do different jobs
Carburetor intake holders seal the connection to the cylinder head; float-bowl gaskets seal the lower carburetor joint. Fork oil seals retain oil in the fork assembly. The S range has separate products for each job, so a carburetor rebuild kit should not be treated as an all-inclusive intake or chassis repair package.
Model and year comparisonYamaha XS750S model differences
The following checks help separate an original Special from a standard triple or a modified example.
Special identity
XS750S / Special
Match the full market and year designation. A Special badge or a taller handlebar alone cannot identify the engine, carburetors or brakes underneath.
1979 Special reference
XS750SF
Higher bars, a stepped seat and leading-axle forks distinguish the contemporary SF. Measure the actual fork seals and cable routing on a restored machine.
Standard comparison
XS750E
The E shares selected carb-kit applications with S. Check other components individually; the E page is not a substitute for a Special chassis application.

Use these checks with the Yamaha documentation for your original market. Frame and engine markings identify the assemblies; they do not prove that every fitted component is original.
- Special model and engine. Record the full frame and engine identification and compare it with the correct Yamaha market documentation. Keep the complete designation, including any year suffix shown in the documents.
- Intake and carburetor parts. Photograph the carburetor markings, bowl shape and intake-holder connections. The Special bowl gasket differs from the separately listed early D gasket.
- Forks, brakes and bars. Measure the installed fork seals and identify the brake assembly. Note any handlebar or front-end conversion; Special styling alone does not mean cable length or master-cylinder bore.
Ask the PartsNMore team with your model, year, original market if known, and clear photos of the identification markings and component.
