About the Honda XL
Your model directory for Honda XL maintenance and restoration parts.
The Honda XL family directory brings together motorcycles with very different engine sizes and equipment. An XL100 carburetor repair, an XL250R brake service and an XL1000V caliper repair call for separate applications. Start with the full model name, including its suffix, then identify any replacement engine, carburetor or front end before selecting parts.
Choose the model before choosing the repair
Start with the frame identification and complete model designation. For a carburetor job, also identify the fitted carburetor; for brakes or forks, identify the assembly and position. The examples below deliberately span different XL models to show how to read an application. They are individual repair choices, not a service package that fits the whole family.
Know your XL before choosing partsXL repair checkpoints
Use the checkpoints below to prepare the parts list for your repair.
Small XL models
Carburetor applications are specific
The featured rebuild kit lists XL100 1977–1978. It should not be applied to every XL100 year or to another small XL model on displacement alone.
XL250R and XL500R
Chassis parts have their own coverage
The selected brake shoes list XL250R 1982–1987, while the selected fork seals list XL500R 1982. The model suffix and repair component remain essential.
Larger XL machines
Use their own brake and fork parts
The examples include XL600R dust seals and an XL1000V caliper piston with separate year applications. Do not transfer earlier trail-model dimensions to these assemblies.
Identify your motorcycle before orderingXL identification checklist
Record the motorcycle’s identification and check for replacement assemblies before choosing service parts.
- Record the complete XL model, suffix and year from the frame identification and documentation, including any engine replacement.
- Use the matching model collection, then confirm the product lists the exact model and year rather than only the XL family.
- Photograph the carburetor, fork or brake assembly being repaired and compare dimensions and original references where available.
Contact PartsNMore with the model year, frame and engine markings and clear photos of the component being repaired.
